Mike and his team maximize the productivity and performance of our customers' buildings through sophisticated, comprehensive facilities management services. These include development of long-term facilities and construction strategies, implementation of site-specific operations and construction policies and procedures, and application of computerized preventative maintenance programs. 

As his customers' primary point of contact, he helps them set, analyze, and monitor their vendor budgets. He assists with contract negotiations and performance reviews, provides expertise and training to support engineering and maintenance staff, and monitors utility budgets and energy conservation programs.

In addition, Mike provides design management and advanced technology implementation support for new construction projects and renovations/retrofits. He also helps resolve tenant issues and increase tenant satisfaction by introducing activities, such as logistical and building system upgrades, energy conservation initiatives, and recycling. 

In every aspect of his work, Mike's leadership and personnel development skills enable BTE to attract and maintain a highly professional work force, capable of providing consistent, high-quality facilities management services that meet our customers' most demanding expectations.


Mike has more than 25 years of experience in engineering, construction, and facilities management, much of it at diverse, multi-site property groups. After serving as lead building engineer at Sancta Maria Hospital in Cambridge, Mass, he joined BTE in 1987 as a master craft lead. Before taking his current position, he held assistant project manager and project manager positions. As project manager, he oversaw construction and the first two years of operation of Boston's 675,000-square foot John Joseph Moakley U.S. Courthouse.

Mike has 1st- and 2nd-class fireman and 2nd- and 3rd-class engineer certificates from Peterson School of Engineering and the corresponding licenses from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He is certified by the Association of Facilities Engineers as a plant maintenance manager and by the EPA for refrigerant transition and recovery. 

He has also completed OSHA's 10-hour safety education program, Red Cross CPR and first-aid courses, the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED green building training, and the National Fire Protection Association's 70E arc flash training.

Mike is a member of the Association of Facilities Engineers and BOMA (Building Operators and Managers Association), where he also serves on the Engineering Committee Team.

The Personal Side

Mike and his wife have two teenage sons. He likes to work out at his local gym and enjoys sports fishing, motorcycling, camping, and other outdoor activities.
